Car rental conditions

These rules apply to every car booked through Bytnaa. Each office also sets its own conditions — age, deposit, mileage and fuel — and those are shown on its page before you book.

How booking works on Bytnaa

  • Bytnaa is a booking platform: you choose the car, the times and the pick-up place, and your request goes to the rental office, which confirms or declines it. The car is not held until it is confirmed.
  • The rental contract itself is between you and the office and is signed at pick-up. Bytnaa is not a party to it.
  • Nothing is charged through the platform: you pay the office at pick-up.

What you need at pick-up

  • A valid driving licence. Non-Syrians are advised to carry an international driving permit as well; each office states what it accepts.
  • An ID card or passport.
  • The minimum age and years of driving experience are set by the office and shown on its page before you book.
  • The office decides whether to hand over the car if the conditions are not met.

The refundable deposit

  • Many offices ask for a deposit, paid at pick-up and returned when the car comes back in the same condition. The amount is shown on the office's page before booking and is never part of the rental price.
  • No deposit is asked when you rent with a driver: the office's own driver is at the wheel.
  • Only amounts shown to be due under the rental contract and the handover report may be deducted.

Fuel and mileage

  • The fuel policy (full-to-full or same level) is shown on the office's page. Return the car accordingly to avoid a fuel charge.
  • If the office sets a daily mileage limit it is shown before booking; extra kilometres are charged at return at the office's rate.

The handover report

  • The office records the car's condition, odometer and fuel level with photographs at handover and at return, with you present.
  • That report is the reference for any damage claim or deduction from the deposit. Ask for a copy and keep it.

Times and lateness

  • Pick-up is booked at least two hours ahead.
  • On return you have a sixty-minute grace period. After that a full rental day is charged for each 24 hours or part of it, at the daily rate shown at booking.
  • If you have not arrived within two hours of the pick-up time without telling the office, it may rent the car to someone else.

Cancelling and changing

  • Cancellation is free until 24 hours before pick-up, from 'My bookings' or by contacting the office.
  • No cancellation fee applies unless it was shown on the platform before you booked.
  • To change times or the pick-up place, contact the office directly — the price may change with the length of the rental.

Fines, damage and accidents

  • Traffic fines during the rental are the renter's, and the office may only charge them against an official document showing the date and amount.
  • In an accident or breakdown: tell the office at once, involve the police where the accident requires it, and do not sign any settlement before speaking to the office.
  • If the car breaks down for reasons not caused by you, the office must repair it, replace it with a car of the same class or better within a reasonable time, or refund the unused days.

Pick-up place and travel

  • Pick-up at the office, at the airport, or delivery to your hotel, depending on what the office offers. Airport or delivery fees, if any, are shown in the price before you confirm.
  • Travel between governorates: some offices allow it, others require prior approval. This is shown on the office's page.
  • Taking the car outside Syria requires the office's written approval.

The platform's role

  • Bytnaa does not own or rent out cars; it displays offices' offers and passes on your request.
  • The office is responsible for the car's condition, its registration and mandatory insurance, and for honouring the booking.
  • For any complaint write to [email protected] and we will follow it up with the office.

Questions renters ask

Do I pay anything when I book?

No. Booking on Bytnaa needs nothing up front; you pay the office at pick-up, and the refundable deposit, if any, is paid to the office and returned with the car.

Do I need an international driving permit?

Non-Syrians are advised to carry one alongside their national licence. Each office states on its page whether it accepts international permits.

What if I return the car late?

You have a sixty-minute grace period. After that a full rental day is charged for each 24 hours or part of it, at the daily rate shown at booking.

Can I cancel?

Yes, free of charge until 24 hours before pick-up. After that, contact the office directly.
